Ikoyi is still mostly residential with old-school colonial homes still being used as offices. Ikoyi has recently seen spring impressive grade A buildings on its main commercial streets such as Kingsway road, Glover road or Banana Island Commercial Area. Its proximity to executives accommodations and easier access to the airport makes it one of the best place for professional services companies.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Ikoyi is gradually morphing from residential only at its origins to increasingly more commercial. Still it maintains a level of quietness (esp. Banana Island).

THE LIFESTYLE: Mostly suitable to family and calm lifestyle. Couple of restaurants and lounges but not the most vibrant night scene.

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT: A vibrant night scene and a true melting pot of all classes. Young inhabitants are scarce and mostly belong to golden youth (at times accommodated in their family properties).

THE MARKET: Very dynamic. Several high-end developments and a general trend towards more luxury.
